We’re off!

Five months and 5 days ago, we left the Louisville airport in a car to go on our first date together. Today, through a remarkable work of God’s grace, we‘re leaving another airport in a plane as a married couple, headed for Dubai. What an adventure God has taken us on. And what an adventure awaits! 

It was a whirlwind of a week, and we’re both exhausted, but in the swirl of fear, occasional confusion, and excitement, a joy began to rise between us. A joy not found on this earth, but one that is eternal–the joy of being His and being on His path for us, together. 

We’re not sure what awaits us on the other side of this plane ride, but we are sure that our God will provide strength when our hearts are weak, light when darkness surrounds, and grace when we are brought low. We are taking off now from DC and will arrive in Dubai in just under 14 hours from now, Lord-willing!

We leave today stronger because we know our God and we know you all are praying for us. Thank you!

• Unwavering faith when things get difficult

• Courage, comfort, and faith for our families that we’re leaving at home

• Grace to fight to trust, forgive, and love each other when conflicts rise between us

• That God would meet us in unexpected and gracious ways this coming week of transition and new things

• That we would have strength and clarity of mind to serve those we interact with as we begin work with FOCUS
