Boston?

So, Boston?
After much prayer, conversation, and exploring several options the Lord is leading us to join up with Trinity Cambridge Church in East Cambridge, Boston, MA.
Todd will be doing a pastoral apprenticeship underneath the pastor, Shawn Woo, working towards elder ordination and serving the church as a missionary in residence.
That’s right, our trajectory hasn’t changed even though the path has taken a few detours! Currently the Lord is still leading us to go back into cross-cultural missions, and Trinity Cambridge Church wants to be a part of affirming this.
The Sovereign Grace Pastors College was a very helpful time for Todd to learn and grow, especially to see his strengths and weaknesses all the more clearly. We have faith that joining Trinity Cambridge Church will be exactly what Todd needs in this next season before moving back overseas.
In my first phone call with Shawn a year ago, I mentioned to him that Brittany and I were hopeful to go back overseas but I wanted to learn how to pastor, preach, and teach here before I do that there. He responded "Our church has been praying for someone who could come here to potentially lead a missions team to help plant a church overseas.”
Shawn’s humility, zeal, joy, and pastoral astuteness have been leading factors in making this decision.
Another encouraging aspect of this has been Shawn’s full support of our continued work with GCC. In fact, it’s through the support that we aim to raise for GCC that we will be able to supplement our income during this next season.
The past two and a half years, Sovereign Grace Church of Louisville has been a major means of grace to our family as we transitioned off the field from Dubai and sought to grow and strengthen our relationships with each other and with the Lord. We are so grateful for the countless ways this church has cared for our marriage, strengthened us, and brought us a lot of joy—all sourced in the riches of Christ. We will certainly miss this church body. We have gained some lifetime friends here and we move forward stronger and richer because of their impact on our lives!
The plan now is for us to soak up our last spring and summer here in Louisville and then Lord-willing, we’ll move to Cambridge sometime in August! Would you pray for us?
Ways we covet your prayers:
HOUSING - Join us in asking God to provide us an affordable 2-3 bedroom apartment that has space for hosting and a yard, and that is near people in the church, a train stop, and a park (bonus: lots of natural light indoors, near trees, international neighbors).
WISDOM - Pray for wisdom for us as we seek to care for Zion and River well through this transition. Z’s old enough now to have dear friends and family here, so we anticipate leaving will be painful and perhaps confusing for him (though we trust God will use this in his little life!).
TRANSITION - Pray for joyful faith for us as we transition relationally (again), think through the logistics of moving, prepare to significantly downsize our living space, and go from living in the country to living in a big city.
PROVISION - Ask God to provide the funds we need for GCC so Todd won’t have to find a second job.
FAITHFULNESS - Pray that we finish well here in Louisville, making the most of every opportunity He gives us to magnify Christ.
