Further Update on Kaleb
Looking at a longer hospital stay and less visits for the kids
Kaleb's oxygenation desaturated down to the 80s this evening, combined with rapid breathing. The team switched him from oral antibiotics to IV antibiotics and swabbed him for a variety of other viruses to see if he picked up something new. He's comfortable now, but back up on 1 liter of oxygen with IV antibiotics that are administered every 24 hours, so we're looking at another couple of days in the hospital, at least.
The possibility that he caught another virus combined with the fact that the kids have been visiting him the past couple of days makes us wonder if there's a connection. We're going to stop the kids' visits to the hospital for now (something they really enjoy) and when he comes home we will need to be much more careful in trying to protect him from any viruses the kids bring into the house.
Please pray for Zion and River and us as we navigate this new burden. They love to be close to their brother and we want to foster their love for him. Hopefully it will be a short term thing, particularly until he has his GJ tube surgery (he has to be healthy for 4-6 weeks beforehand).
So grateful for you all!
