GCC FUNDRAISING LAUNCH

We Couldn't Do This Without You!

A hearty greeting to all! Last summer we sent out our last update, recounting Todd's experience in the Sovereign Grace Pastors College, the birth of our sweet River, and the gaining momentum of the Great Commission Council (GCC). Much has developed since that email, so here's an update.

FAMILY UPDATE

The kids are growing fast! Zion will turn 3 this June. He sings through most of his days, can spot a construction vehicle from a mile away, and regularly dresses up as a firefighter. Our wild River girl turned 1 last week (!!). She is a walker and climber, the life of the party, extremely empathetic, and an emotional roller coaster 😆. We are loving these exhausting but precious days with two toddlers!

Having written for Sovereign Grace Music in the past, Brittany has been able to dedicate more time to songwriting for her own projects and for Sovereign Grace Music. The next album they're working on is "Songs for the Lord's Day," focusing on providing more songs the church can sing specifically on Sunday.

GCC'S PUBLIC LAUNCH

What's GCC again?

The Great Commission Council is a coalition of long-term missionaries sharing their collective wisdom about healthy, church-centered missions.

The 60+ missionaries come from various backgrounds and serve in different ways, and they all agree on one central thing: the greatest need on the mission field today is to establish healthy indigenous churches. As modern missions is filled with confusion on simple definitions like:

  • What is the local church's role in missions?

  • What is the role of a missionary?

  • What is the role of a sending agency?

GCC seeks to provide biblically informed clarity by bringing the missionaries together for a week long gathering in the summer where they spend time crafting statements and articles (36 so far, 50 is the goal), recording videos, hearing testimonies of what God is doing across the nations, and having a sweet time of fellowship encouraging one another in the faith.

At the CROSS conference we distributed sample booklets highlighting three statements that targeted some key areas for healthy missions in the church. You can read them by clicking the images.

JOIN US IN PRAYER

  • For the Lord to provide rich partnerships and funding for GCC.

  • For the salvation of our children, Zion and River, and wisdom for us as we seek to raise them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

  • That we would be faithful stewards of our time in Louisville, building the church, learning, and investing in relationships.

  • That the efforts of Great Commission Council would bear long-lasting fruit in the Church. Pray for Christ-centered clarity in the purpose and direction of GCC in the coming years. And pray for our work in GCC would be God-glorifying.
