5 Days Until Take Off 🌍 ✈

Being Flexible

This summer came and went too fast, it seems like a blur but as I look back at this summer I realize just how much I enjoyed it. Even though it didn't really go as I had envisioned beforehand it was what the Lord had prepared for me. God also answered many prayers! Sometimes immediately, for ministry teammates and ministry opprotunties. Global Frontier Missions, the organization I am working along side here in Atlanta had summer interns and short term teams come through over the past 2 months. This is what actually ended up being my focus throughout the summer, mobilizing people for cross-cultural ministry. Not what I had envisioned. I am becoming more aware of the people and opportunities God places in front of me and not so focused on what I think I should be doing that it blinds me. Through my willingness to be flexible to what God is doing I realized that I do enjoy mobilizing people for cross-cultural missions and working with college students. Now as I go forward in ministry I know Mobilization will be a big part of ministry for me.

  Healing

This past week I posted on the private Facebook group and asked everyone to pray for a friend of mine, Mohamed, who has cancer and it has recently spread to his lungs and liver. As of right now his condition is only becoming worse, he has a constant fever, low blood pressure, and he can't keep any food down. I have been able to visit him twice in the past two days and plan to spend as much time at the hospital with him as I can. Please continue to join me in praying to our merciful God for him to know Jesus and to be healed physically. I will keep you updated on my private Facebook group.

Dubai and Eastern Europe

This Saturday, August 12th at 10:00pm EST I will depart for my first ever trip out of North America and my first vision trip. My first stop will be Dubai where I will be visiting a few different ministries and teams with Pioneers. I am drawn to Dubai because it's a global hub for people from all over the world to come, work, and find a better way of life. It is home to

over 200

nationalities!  A lot of these people are potential leaders from countries that are closed to Christianity. I would also have the opportunity to partner and sit under some experienced cross-cultural missionaries.

On Saturday August 15th at 2:00am Gulf time I will depart for Budapest, Hungary where I will attend a gathering of Pioneers teams from all over North Africa and the Middle East. I am excited to meet these teams and see how I could fit into their ministry team. At the end of the conference I will meet up with my friend Sean who is a missionary in the Czech Republic to spend a few days with him. Then it's back to Atlanta on Tuesday the 29th of August to wrap things up and head back to Indiana.

Coming Home

As I shared last week, the weekend of September 9th I will move back to Evansville, Indiana. My decision to come back to Indiana was not an easy one, however the Lord has pressed it upon me to return. A few different reasons have been placed on my heart; I want to focus on developing ministry with international college students alongside my home church, Westwood, and continue to pay off student debt before I move overseas. I am also looking forward to spending as much time as I can with family and friends before I make the move. My goal for departure remains the same, by the end of 2018, however since starting this process two years ago I have learned that it's a process.  Two years ago I would have thought I would be overseas by now. I have learned to take my time to prepare myself well for a life time of cross-cultural ministry, focus on the day at hand, and enjoy the process.

I look forward to seeing many of you soon!

In Christ,

Todd Born

Pray

  • Pray as I prepare for my trip to Dubai, that God would give me the connections I need to make.

  • Pray for Mohamed and his family. That our merciful Father would open their hearts to His grace.

  • Pray I am diligent and wise with the remainder of the time I have here in Clarkston
