He's coming home!
Kaleb is over his infection, weaned off all sedation, and now we wait for discharge mid-week!

One of our few family photos!
Yesterday evening Todd and I took the kids to see kaleb, since they got over their cold. It was such a relief and joy to be all together again. We talked with the NP and she said we're probably looking at a mid-week discharge.
We've got a number of new meds to figure out (thankfully his schedule is going to be much simpler this time around), nebulizer treatments three times a day, and the CPAP machine to learn, but other than that things are pretty much set!
The only concerns that the team has left right now are Kaleb's continued gagging/retching and his elevated heart rate. They don't know what's causing the gagging, but it is something that he's dealt with his whole life, so it shouldn't delay discharge. They're going to try one new GI med to see if that helps. His retching could pose a problem in the future since it might prevent him from going on CPAP at night, but in that case we'll just keep him on oxygen the following day. His elevated heart rate is most likely connected to a new heart med he's on, which they're keeping an eye on.

Yesterday our church welcomed a whole new group of members. As I looked across the line of faces I was struck by how many of them we already know and have been encouraged by. God is richly blessing our little church and doing wonderful things in the hearts of His people in Cambridge! It was also amazing to note how many different backgrounds and nationalities were represented—Nigeria, Turkey, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, and Bostonians, among other backgrounds.
Please pray:
Tomorrow (Tuesday) I will spend all day at the hospital going through kaleb’s new meds, routine, and equipment with his nurse. Pray I’m able to quickly learn everything I need to so that his transition home is smooth.
Pray that the doctors are able to figure out what's causing Kaleb's gagging/retching
For a smooth discharge and peaceful joy as we prepare to welcome him home (we and the kids tend to get a little tense the last couple days before kaleb is discharged, being on the verge of yet another wave of change)
For God to quickly knit the new members into our church.

How many tears and how many smiles,
How many kisses and how many cries,
How many flowers so brilliantly bright
Have bloomed in a field that's beyond my sight?
My baby is growing where I cannot see;
My baby is healing where I cannot be.

There is a Gardener, patient and wise
Fashioning flowers beloved in His eyes.
Thousands and thousands of moments of light,
Made for His pleasure, kept by His might.
Here I find rest for my sorrow and sighs:
Nothing is wasted and nothing denied
The one who is trusting the Gardener of Time.
