Closer Than Ever Before
At Camp
Exhausted, but yet reinvigorated. Challenged, but not dismayed. Camp took a lot of energy physically, emotionally, and spiritually through-out the week. From being launched from the blob, trying to do flips off the water slide (concussions are likely if you don't get pointers first), acting like you are good at basketball, to doing who can do the best belly buster off the diving board; you were exhausted at the end of the day. These things were great, providing fun to have together however it wasn't the best part about camp. The best parts were the events, skits, music, and messages the camp put together. Everything they do has a purpose behind it. That purpose in the end is displaying the gospel. I was accompanied by eight of my friends in my cabin. Half of which already believers in Christ: Adam Burress, Parker Doninger, Joel Ash, and Camden Hahn. The other half: Brandon Brown, Isaiah Garnett, Brock Bell, and Gavin Hosack at the end of the week for the first time publicly confessed they were all in for Jesus. I was honored to see and be apart of God working in each one of us throughout the week. As we were all growing closer to Christ we were also growing closer together. Oh how powerful, beautiful, and wonderful the gospel is! Parker Doninger is a guy who isn't into exhilarating rides. He is content with sitting watching and reading. Parker however shook on a promise to go on the zip-line with me at least once. When it came time for it he sat in his bed saying, "no, I can't." Challenge accepted, I was not taking that answer. All of my guys came with me to encourage Parker. After 45 minutes of talking to Parker he finally said yes. We would have sat there all day, if necessary. I had the honor to join Parker for his first ever zip-line ride. Once at the bottom his first words, "I might just do that again!". It was beautiful to have all these guys surround Parker, to encourage him onward. That is love! After CampWe just finished our follow up week for camp. We met every night going through a devotion, looking at what it means to follow Jesus and the promises of God connecting the old and new testaments. Afterwards naturally we all just hung out late into the night hanging onto the bonds created at camp. Onto My Next CampOn Wednesday, July 16th, I start my journey to work at a Young Life Camp in British Columbia, Malibu Club. I will be there for one month to return August 19th. While serving at this camp I will be on the Maintenance crew, repairing and building things. I am really excited for this adventure as it will be a growing experience and I will be able to help this camp take part in the work they are doing for Christ. Pray I will be refreshed and be challenged while I serve.

Pray for more community support on the West-side. Especially community connections to Mater Dei.

Pray that the seeds planted at camp will take root in good soil transforming into strong redwoods for the faith. Also that they will be bold in their faith displaying and sharing Christ to their friends.

Leaders who went to camp (Paige Austin, Billy Thompson, Rachel Brown, Kelsey Stickler, Myself, and Jake Bramlet) Pray for us that we will not grow weary but be strengthened in our walks with Christ. Also that we take our high school friends deeper with Christ.
