So far so good...

We are one week away from Kaleb's surgery on April 23 and things are going smoothly so far!

The warm spring sun has finally burst through the clouds after a cold and rainy week indoors. For the most part, we've been keeping the kids from any indoor gatherings, and so far they're still sickness free. And though we are significantly lacking in the sleep department and the kids are getting a little stir-crazy, we are still enjoying these days so much.

Monday I took Kaleb to his pre-op appointment. The nurse was VERY thorough and went through everything in Kaleb's medical history to ensure there aren't any unforeseen complications with his procedures next week.

As of right now, General Surgery and Anesthesia are good to go with surgery next Wednesday, April 23. We'll find out the exact timing the day before the surgery, but it will most likely be in the morning. The last variable, aside from any new sickness, is his heart eval which is happening this Thursday morning. He will have a chest x-ray and echocardiogram. If his heart has continued to improve, it will be all systems go. If his heart is not doing as well, they will reevaluate how they administer his anesthesia but will most likely still continue with the procedures.

  • Please continue to pray that Kaleb (and we) remains healthy for this surgery! Though none of these procedures is very serious, it is very important that he gets them as far as his breathing and feeding is concerned.

  • Pray for Todd as he prepares to preach at our church's Good Friday service this weekend.

  • Pray for continued opportunities to build relationally with our neighbors, Mike, Denise & her husband, Packard & Hannah, and Renee.
