The Daily Kaleb

Hello friends,

It looks like today is going to be the day Kaleb will go through the heart catheter procedure. This is good news as it will give us further clarity (1) to what is going on inside his heart with the flow and pressures and (2) what is going on inside his lungs.

Brittany got to spend a good amount of time with Kaleb yesterday and during that time had another really good conversation with a cardiologist. Kaleb’s case is complex and rare, given the multiple conditions going on. Pulmonary hypertension being the curve ball that prevents them from going right into surgery to fix the holes in his hearts middle wall (Atrium), since the right side of the heart (his enlarged side) pumps right into his lungs. This is why the heart catheter is the next big step.

There is a good chance there may not be a good option for him. I (Brittany) kind of feel like I spent a lot of time grieving the past 24 hours and was semi-prepared for this news. But obviously still processing. I think Todd and I both agree if it means a lifetime of machines and medication and surgeries we would rather him be at home with the Lord at this point. The cardiologist also assured me if surgery doesn't look to be a viable option they will focus on his quality of life and let us spend time with him, hold him, etc. So, lots to wait on the Lord for and entrust to Him. And we would still love to see the Lord our God provide healing . ❤️

1. The heart cath to go well and that God provides a clear path forward

2. Pray for us to not depend upon our own strength and wisdom but to see our God is our sovereign shield and our great reward!
