Update #12: Moving Forward with Surgery

Yesterday, Brittany’s dear friends, Bekah and Bec, joined us on our family trip to spend time with Kaleb! It has been so sweet to have friends visit and care for us.

Next Steps

Given that Kaleb has progressed really well over the past week and it doesn’t seem like he is going to progress much more without surgical repairs, the teams have decided to move forward with surgery earlier.

The surgery will either be tomorrow at 11am (Friday, Oct, 18th) or Monday morning (Oct, 21st).

They have decided it would be best to repair both the atrium wall holes and the holes in his valves in this one surgery. The valve repair would most likely need another repair later in Kaleb’s life. This surgery will be an open heart surgery with lung and heart bypass.

We have been in awe the past two days at how quickly things have turned around for Kaleb’s good. Our hearts are full with the steadfast love of the Lord. We stand firm knowing whatever may befall, our God is working all things out for our good and His glory. And so we pray Lord, still be our vision oh Ruler of all.
