The Waiting Game

Kaleb is mostly over this virus and now we wait!

I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living! Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!

Psalm 27:13-14

Todd set me up for some precious time with the Lord this morning and I couldn't get Psalm 27 out of my head so I read through it in prayer. It's a psalm about waiting. About fixing your gaze on the Lord as you wait. Then my friend sent me this verse:

Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD; his going out is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth. Hosea 6:3

As the tree branches are now swelling with their buds and blossoms and the clouds are heavy with rain, I am thankful that I have a God who comes to us as the spring showers, bringing life and nourishment to us.

Kaleb is now mostly over his virus (they confirmed it was Covid—again!), fever free, and happy as a clam—except when no one is paying attention to him. General surgery has agreed to operate on him once he is fever free; now we are only waiting for anesthesia to determine when they feel comfortable putting him under, and then for a coordination of the schedules of all of the teams that will be involved in his surgery. We should have some sort of news on Monday - maybe even a date?

Please Pray:

• Please pray for all the details to fall into place quickly so Kaleb can have his GJ surgery and we can be one step closer to having him home with us!

• Pray for kaleb’s protection from any other viruses and from pulling out his feeding tube again.

• Please pray for peace as we wait on the Lord to have His good and perfect will done, and for continued wisdom for each day to decide how to best spend our time.
